Fresh Face Spritzer + custom blends for skin types
A misty spritz of face spay is a terrific way to keep skin hydrated and wake up wandering senses. I recommend using distilled water or bottled mineral water for optimum shelf life and rewarding results. I keep a bottle of this spray on both my desk and in my purse at all times for a hydrating pick-me-up.
Note about essential oils: Follow your sense of appeal when using oils for scent. Start slowly with mixing and matching – some of the best blends are simple, so try just one or two first. High-quality essential oils cost a pretty penny, but just a wee bit is needed and they have an indefinite shelf. Happy blending!
INGREDIENTS
1 cup distilled or mineral water (Fiji or Volvic water is a great pick), or homemade Rose Water
10 drops pure essential oils – lavender, rose, chamomile, and/or sweet orange
(examples: try 4 drops rose, 3 drops lavender, 2 drops chamomile, 1 drop orange; or try 5 drops each lavender and chamomile or lavender and rose)
PROCEDURE
Place all ingredients in a glass jar.
Cap the bottle tightly and shake well.
Pour the mixture into a 1- or 2-oz. spray bottle (available in natural markets and on-line). Store the remainder in the fridge and refill the spray bottle as needed.
It will keep indefinitely.
Lightly spray your face whenever your skin or outlook needs refredhing.
Special Blends for Skin Types:
Dry Skin: add ½ teaspoon vegetable glycerin – a hydrating humectant that draws water from the air to condition the skin – or 1 teaspoon avocado or almond oil
Sensitive Skin: choose soothing essential oils of rose and chamomile
Oily Skin: add 1 teaspoon witch hazel and try essential oils of lavender and grapefruit
